Controlling employee login access for documents and events

Controlling employee login access for documents and events

On eypeople, you're able to control the level of access general employees have to documents and events. This depends both on the way you have configured your document and event settings, and how you have set up individual document/event types.

Allowing employees to add/edit documents and events

By default, only managers are able to add and edit documents and events to an employee's profile. However, for some settings, it might be more convenient for employees to be able to manage their own documents and events. If so, you have the ability to give them these permissions in settings. You will receive a notification whenever an employee adds/edits a document or event.

  1. In the top right, click on  > System Settings.
  2. Click on HR in the sidebar.
  3. Click on the Documents/Events tab.
  4. Check the Add option under the Document and/or Event headings to allow employees to add documents/events to their profile.
  5. Check the Edit option under the Document and/or Event headings to allow employees to edit any documents/events added to their profile by themselves or others.

Creating sensitive documents and events

When you're creating a new event or document type, you have the option to mark it as Sensitive. This means that it can only be seen by users who are given access to Sensitive documents and events, and is hidden from all others.

Editing access to sensitive information

  1. In the top right, click on  > Global Settings.
  2. Click on HR in the sidebar.
  3. Go to Employee > Sensitive Information.
  4. Click on the dropdown menu next to Who has access to sensitive information and select the users you want to be given access. You can either select specific users, or certain user roles.
  5. Click Save.
