Creating terms

You can create and customise multiple terms for your setting, with different start/finish dates, funding rates, and holidays. Funding can only be applied within term dates. Terms are assigned to children individually, and multiple terms can be assigned for each academic year.
  1. In the top right, go to  > System Settings.
  2. Click on Terms/Funding on the left.
  3. Click on the  button in the top right to create a new term.
  4. Give the term a Name and Description.
  5. Choose what Year this term is for. 
  6. Choose the Funding Eligible Date. This is the latest a child can have their birthday to still be eligible for this term/rate.
  7. Choose the Start and Finish Date for this term. These cannot overlap with dates for other terms you have created.
  8. Choose an option for Funding Entitlement for Partial Weeks:
    1. Full Week: If there is a partial week included in the term dates, funding entitlement will be the same as if it were a full week.
    2. Pro Rata: If there is a partial week included in the term dates, funding entitlement will be adjusted relative to the number of term days within that week.
  9. Enter the Start Dates and Finish Dates of all holidays that occur within the term period under Term Holidays. No funding applies during these dates.
  10. Choose the Colour for this term. On the Children page, children will be highlighted the colour of the term, and term holidays will appear as this colour in the calendar.
  11. Choose in which months this term runs in the Term Months field.
  12. Fill out the funding rates for your Local Authority.
  13. Fill out the funding rates that you will use when calculating funding For Invoices if funding allocation is As per funding rates.
  14. Fill in the EYPP Rate (£/hour). This applies to universal entitlement only.
  15. Fill in the rates for Deprivation supplements for different bands (£/hour). These apply to universal and extended entitlement for three/four-year-olds.
  16. Click Save.
To create a term for all nurseries, go to  > Global Settings, then continue from Step 2.
