Customising absence types/absence reasons

When booking holiday/sickness entitlement, you are required to choose what type of absence it is, and the reason for the absence. You can add and customise the absence types and absence reasons in settings.

Absence Types
  1. In the top right, click  > Global Settings.
  2. In the sidebar, click on HR.
  3. Go to Absence > Types.
  4. Click on the  icon in the top right to create a new absence type.
  5. Choose a Name and Colour for the absence type.
  6. Check the box next to Paid if this is a paid absence.
  7. From the Deduct from Entitlement? drop-down menu, choose whether this absence type deducts from holiday entitlement, sickness entitlement, or neither.
  8. Select the Linked Absence Reasons. Only reasons that have been linked here are selectable for this absence type. Any reasons that haven’t been linked will be hidden when you select this absence type during booking.
  9. Uncheck the box next to Visible to staff if you don’t want this absence type to be seen by other staff when viewing the calendar.
  10. Click Save.
  11. Click the  icon to edit an absence type, and click the  icon to edit its linked reasons.
Absence Reasons
  1. In the top right, click  > Global Settings.
  2. In the sidebar, click on HR.
  3. Go to Absence > Reasons.
  4. Click on the  icon in the top right to create a new absence reason.
  5. Type in a Name for this absence reason.
  6. Select the Linked Absence Types for this absence reason. Absence reasons will only show up during absence booking if the linked absence type is selected first. 
  7. Click Save.
  8. Click the  icon to edit an absence reason, and click the  icon to edit its linked absence types.
