Getting Started: Filling out the staff profile

Getting Started: Filling out the staff profile

Most of the fields in the staff profile function primarily as reference. However, there are several fields in the Profile tab that have system functionality. Note that not all fields are applicable to every product.

Let’s go over just the fields that are relevant to this guide.

First Name/Last Name: The staff member's first and last name. These are mandatory fields. You cannot create a new profile without filling them in.

Address/Postcode: This staff member’s address and postcode.

Primary Email: The staff member's email. All communications are sent to this email by default. For practitioners on eylog, the Email field instead allows you to add their manager's email.

Create eymanage Staff Login: Checking this will create an account for the staff member on the system, which they can use to access their schedule and book absences.

Start Date: The date the staff member started at the nursery. You must select the start date for this staff member before holiday and sickness entitlement can be calculated.

Leave Date: The date a staff member will leave the company if you know it. This can be used to calculate the remaining holiday and sickness entitlement for a staff member.

Job Title/Position: The staff member's job title. This affects which qualifications and training courses you can add to the staff profile.

Preferred Activity: The default Activity when scheduling sessions for this staff member.

Room: The default Room when scheduling sessions for this staff member.

Key Children: Select this staff member’s key children from the drop-down menu. On eylog, depending on Nursery Details, staff members may only be able to access their key children.

Create eylog Profile: Checking this will create a profile for the staff member on eylog.

Editing eylog permissions
If this staff member is also a practitioner on eylog, you can use the table at the bottom of the page to edit their permissions for what they can publish using the various features of eylog. The two options you can check for each feature are Publisher and Reviewer, with the exception of Daily Diaries which only require publishers.

PublisherCan publish observations/forms/reports/diaries without needing them reviewed

ReviewerCan review and publish other practitioners' observations/forms/reports/diaries. Selecting Reviewer will automatically check Publisher for the chosen feature.
