Installing the eylog app on a tablet device

Installing the eylog app on a tablet device

The eylog practitioner app allows practitioners to use the features of eylog – e.g. observations – while taking care of children. You can download the practitioner app from the Play Store on Android devices, or the App Store on iOS devices.
Notes
The eylog practitioner app can only be used on devices with a screen size larger than 7 inches.

Installing the eylog app on an Android/iOS tablet

  1. Go to the Play Store/App Store on your tablet.
  2. Search ‘eylog’ in the search bar.
  3. Install the eylog app to your device.
  4. On the web version of eylog, hover over your profile picture in the top right.
  5. Click on System Settings.
  6. Click on System. This should bring you to a screen with a QR code.
  7. On your device, open the eylog practitioner app.
  8. You may get pop-ups about app permissions. For the best user experience, tap Allow for all of these.
  9. The app should automatically open your device’s camera. Use this to scan the QR code.
  10. Alternatively, on the web version, click Manual Install - Show Serial ID and Password. On the app, tap Enter serial ID and password and type in the Serial ID and Password exactly as they appear.
  11. Tap Install.

Installing the eylog app on an Amazon Fire tablet

Though the eylog practitioner app can be installed on Amazon (Kindle) Fire tablets, we don't generally recommend it. Some features aren't available when using these tablets, and because you don't have access to the App Store or Google Play, the installation process is more complicated.
Warning
When using the eylog app on an Amazon (Kindle) Fire tablet, you will not receive notifications, and you are required to use the in-built camera to upload media.

Installing the eylog apk

  1. Go your Settings >  Security and Privacy.
  2. Enable Apps from Unknown Sources to allow your device to download the eylog apk.

  6. Navigate to your downloads and open the apk file (alternatively, you can find the file back dragging down the top of the screen).
