  1. Keeping track of children and employees throughout the day is now quicker and easier with our new Headcount feature. Headcount helps you carry out scheduled safeguarding checks by confirming who is physically present in each room, using your live register and signed-in employee records, and provides an accurate view of attendance while automatically calculating room ratio compliance.
Schedule headcounts within settings, for times that work for your group or individual nursery. Employees receive reminder notifications until they're completed, and record the status of any child or employee not seen during the check. All completed headcounts are timestamped and stored in a dashboard, where managers/administrators can review historical records, filter results, and export data for reporting and audits. Additionally, web users can receive notifications for out-of-ratio rooms through the notification settings based on configured user roles.

  1. We have introduced Headcount, a new safeguarding feature designed to help nurseries quickly confirm the children and employees physically present throughout the day. Using the live register and signed-in employee records, Headcount provides an accurate view of attendance while automatically calculating room ratio compliance, including support for rooms with mixed age groups. Practitioners will receive notifications/reminders for scheduled headcounts, or can start headcount manually to view and mark children and employees currently signed in for the selected room, and instantly view the live ratio compliance. Reminder notifications continue until the required headcount has been completed, where the reminder frequency is set.

  1. We've enhanced the eyparent app to make assessment levels easier to understand. Assessment levels now include clear symbols alongside the existing colour indicators, making it easier to distinguish between different assessments without relying on colour alone. The same symbols are also displayed in the assessment legend, providing a consistent experience across all assessment frameworks.
  1. We've made it easier to keep track of new messages in conversations. Unread messages will now be automatically marked as read as soon as a user opens a conversation, removing the need for any additional taps or actions. To help users identify new content, conversations with unread messages will display a "New Messages" divider, highlighting where unread messages begin. If new messages arrive while a conversation is open, they will appear below the divider, which will automatically disappear once the messages have been read or the user sends a reply. This improvement creates a more intuitive messaging experience and reduces confusion when managing conversations.

  1. Employees can now submit an absence directly from the calendar screen, in the employee app, using the new + Request Absence button, making it easy to check team availability before submitting a request. The existing absence request forms, entitlement calculations, and approval workflow remain unchanged, ensuring a familiar experience while reducing the number of steps needed to request leave.
  1. Display the “RSVP By” deadline on Event cards where an RSVP deadline has been set, so members are clearly informed of the deadline before it expires. This complements the existing behaviour where responses are disabled once the RSVP deadline has passed.
