We are thrilled to introduce an all-new interface and feature-enhanced eyparent app, designed to transform how parents communicate with their childcare setting. The team has worked tirelessly to add new features, enhance existing ones, and optimise the app for a simpler, more intuitive user experience.
With these updates, staying connected has never been easier. Here’s a sneak peek at the exciting new features and improvements coming your way!
What's new
Updated UI
The eyparent app has been given a new look, making it easier than ever to navigate. We know that sifting through numerous icons and pages can be a hassle, so we’ve streamlined the design, highlighting the most important features. For reference, the Home Screen now gives parents quick access to their child’s latest observation, signing their child in and out, and their account summary all in one place.
We have also worked to make the app and web versions of the parent portal more consistent. The user interface is now the same across both platforms, and all the key features are in the same location. However, please note that some app features may not be available on the web version.
Campaigns and Conversations
We are changing how Messages works, with two new communication features: Campaigns and Conversations, designed to make interactions between parents and nurseries clearer and more efficient.
- Campaigns allow childcare providers to send official updates and announcements to parents, and this is visible to parents within the Communications feature.
- Conversations enable direct messaging between parents and nursery employees for quick, easy communication.
The New Timeline
In the current eyparent app, important features like the Learning Journey, Accident/Incident Sheets, Medicine Forms, Reports, Daily Diaries, and sign-in records are in different sections. This separation makes it difficult to get a complete picture of the child’s day at a glance.
With the new Timeline, we are bringing everything together in one place. Now, parents will be able to see all updates about their child’s day in a single, streamlined view. From here, they can track daily diaries as they’re published, review observations, and easily sign forms—all in one convenient location.
Enhanced Security
We are introducing a new OTP (One-Time Password) verification system to add an extra layer of security to eyparent. When logging in, a one-time password will be sent to the account's email to verify identity and complete the login process. This ensures that only authorised users can access the account, keeping children’s information secure.
Staying Up-to-Date
We are making notifications on eyparent more efficient! If the app is installed on a mobile device, parents will now receive a notification whenever the childcare provider publishes an update about their child. Simply tap the notification to be taken directly to the relevant section—saving time and ensuring parents never miss an important update.
Supported Versions
To ensure the best experience and compatibility, this version of the eyparent app requires the following minimum operating system versions:
iOS: 13.4 or later
Android: 9.0 or later
If your device runs an older version, please update your OS to access all features seamlessly.
What's not changing
While a lot of things will change, the parent app will still have nearly all the same essential functionality as the old one.
Adding Observations, Accident/Incidents Sheets, and Medicine Forms
On the Home screen, parents can tap the
icon, to create their own Observations to share what their child has been up to at home, submit Pre-existing Accident Sheets to inform the nursery of any injuries, and Medicine Forms to notify staff about any medications their child is taking.
Invoices and Payments
Parents can easily keep track of their account balance and deposits right from the Home screen and View Details to see a full summary of all Invoices and Payments. From there, parents can look at each invoice or payment in detail. If their childcare provider is connected to a payment gateway, parent will have the option to tap Pay Now to settle their account balance straight from the app.
Booking Extra Sessions
If the childcare provider allows it, parents can book extra sessions for their child straight from the app. This just means going to
> Bookings, select Book a Session, then choose a session type. Pick the start and finish times, and select an available date from the calendar.
Home Learning
Whenever nursery staff update a child's planning sheet, parents will be notified by the app. By going to
> Home Learning > Planning, parents can see their child's learning goals for each week, and recommendations for what they can practice together at home. In the
Resources & Documents tab, parents can find useful links or documents the nursery has published to help with their our child's home learning.
eyengage
Just like before, our updated app will allow parents to access the eyengage newsfeed. Through here, nursery staff will be able to share updates about what's going on at the nursery, and engage with parents. From the eyparent app, parents can like and comment on posts, partici
pate in polls, and see others feedback. The eyengage icon
is easily found at the bottom of the screen.
