Using daily diaries


You can use the Daily Diary to record a child’s daily actions – including nappy changes, sleep times, etc – and absences. Parents will be able to view these updates through the eyparewnt app or web portal, and can also add their own notes to daily diaries.

Writing a daily diary for an individual child on the practitioner app

  1. Log in as a practitioner to see the list of children you have access to.
  2. Tap a child’s picture to select them.
  3. Tap the  Daily Diary icon at the top.
  4. You will automatically be taken to the current day’s diary. You can change the date by tapping the arrows at the top.
  5. Fill out the diary.
  6. Upload media to the diary by tapping Add images in the Media/Observations tab.
  7. Tap Share with parents if you want the child's parent to be able to see the diary, or tap Save as Draft to share later.
  8. Tap Publish when the daily diaries are complete for the day.

Writing a daily diary for an individual child on the web version

  1. Click on  Children in the sidebar.
  2. Click on a child to bring up their profile.
  3. Click on Daily Diary.
  4. You will automatically be taken to the current day’s diary. You can change the date by clicking on the Calendar field, selecting a new day, then clicking View.
  5. Fill out the diary.
  6. Upload media to the diary by clicking Upload in the top left.
  7. Click Share with parents if you want the child’s parent to be able to see the diary, or click Save as Draft to share later.
  8. Click Publish when the daily diary is complete for the day.
NotesOnly practitioners with the Daily Diaries (Individual) Publisher permission ticked on their profile can Share with parents and Publish. Those without permissions can only Save as Draft.

Writing daily diaries for multiple children

On the Daily Diary screen on the practitioner app, you’re able to see and edit daily diaries for all children on a given day. 
  1. Log in as a practitioner to see the list of children you have access to.
  2. Tap the  Daily Diary icon at the top.
  3. You’ll be taken to a screen with daily diaries for all children. 
  4. Fill out the daily diaries. 
  5. Tap the box next to children to select them.
  6. Tap Share with parents so that the parents of all selected children are able to see the diaries, or tap Save as Draft to share later.
  7. Click Publish when the daily diaries are complete for the day.
NotesOnly practitioners with Daily Diaries (Group) Publisher permissions ticked on their profile can Share with parents and Publish. Those without permissions can only Save as Draft.
