On eymanage, you can currently choose from one of three ways to present your invoices. Versions 1 and 2 are each designed to work best with Actual and Equally Spread invoicing, respectively. Version 3 is our newest layout option, which was introduced in response to recent changes to DfE charging guidance.
As our newest option, when designing Version 3 we saw an opportunity to create a comprehensive layout that could work for all early years settings. In addition to the necessary changes we made to comply with the new guidance, we also designed Version 3 to work with both Actual and Equally Spread invoicing. Now, for the vast majority of nurseries, Version 3 is the ideal layout to use for all invoices.
Because of this, the point of separating invoice layouts into different versions has become increasingly unclear. Therefore, we intend to remove Versions 1 and 2, and instead have Version 3 as the single invoice layout that works for all settings.
To prepare for this transition, we recommend that all customers currently using Version 1 or 2 should switch to Version 3.
To prepare for the change to the Department of Education’s Statutory guidance for local authorities on the provision of early education and childcare, which came into place in January 2026, we introduced a new invoice layout. Version 3 complies with the updated guidance by providing increased transparency to parents regarding how they are charged for sessions. We’ve done this by giving our customers more options and more control over how to present their invoices.
You can now give a detailed breakdown of funded and chargeable hours for both Actual and Equally Spread invoices, so parents can understand where their charges are coming from and how they are calculated. The fields that provide details on funding, charges, and sample week calculations can be toggled on and off, so even though we’re reducing the number of layouts, you’re not forced to set up your invoices in a particular way.
In other words, Invoice Layout 3 combines the key features of Layouts 1 and 2 into one. You don’t need to worry about losing out on anything by switching!
