How will payments change when my nursery switches to eypay?

If you've learned that your nursery is moving to eypay to manage their payments, there's no need to worry. Very little will change about how you make payments, you'll just be using a new payment provider with an improved process.

What has changed with the different payment methods?

Your nursery will have the choice of four payment methods available to you through the eyparent app: Card, Pay by Bank, Direct Debit, or Tax-Free Childcare (TFC). Which ones you can use is up to your nursery, so you may not have access to all four. While Pay by Bank is new, the other three methods are largely the same as they were before, with minor alterations that come with having a new provider.

Card: You now have the option to use Google Pay and Apple Pay when choosing card payments. You also have the option to save card details to make future payments even faster.

Pay by Bank: You can now connect to your banking app to make a direct payment to your nursery. Open banking ensures that the payment is secure, and is completed almost instantly.

Direct Debit: If you had a direct debit mandate in place before the switch to eypay, this will be automatically cancelled by your nursery. A new mandate will be emailed to you. Fill out the form, and in 3 working days you should receive confirmation that your new mandate has been activated. Afterwards, direct debit collections will occur as usual.

Tax-Free Childcare: No changes.

How do I make payments with eypay?

The process of making a payment with eypay is very similar to what you will already be used to, and for most people, what minor changes there are will be very easy to understand intuitively. Alert
Please note that eypay has a single transaction limit of £5000 that applies to all payments made through Card, Bank, or Direct Debit. Any amount over this limit needs to be paid over multiple transactions. This limit might differ depending on your nursery to ensure compliance with FCA regulations.
