Importing bank holidays

Importing bank holidays

For the sake of ease, you can add bank holidays to your nursery all at once. Once added, these will apply to all calendars across the system, which removes the need to add bank holidays to terms individually.
  1. Click on  Calendar in the sidebar.
  2. Click on the  icon in the top right.
  3. In the drop down menu, click Import Bank Holidays.
  4. In the pop-up window, select a Country from the top left field.
  5. The Holidays section will be automatically populated with bank holidays for that country, while the Years field will be automatically filled in with the current years and the succeeding two years.
  6. In the Holidays section, you can uncheck the box next to a holiday if you don't want to include it in your calendars.
  7. If Mark as Holiday is selected, then any staff scheduled on a selected bank holiday will be paid the Holiday Pay Rate allocated to their Job Title
  8. The Branch/Nursery Closure option appears if Mark as Holiday is selected. Checking it will bring up additional options for how certain systems should behave when the nursery is closed on a bank holiday:
    1. Sessions (%): Type in the percentage of session rates to charge for sessions scheduled during a bank holiday.
    2. Products/Services (%): Type in the percentage of products/services prices to charge for sessions scheduled during a bank holiday.
    3. Funding Applicable: Check this option if you want funding to apply to sessions scheduled during a bank holiday.
    4. Staff holiday (hours will be used from entitlement): Check this option if you want bank holidays to be considered staff holidays (this will deduct them from holiday entitlement). If this option is not selected, and a staff member is scheduled for a bank holiday, then the Hourly Rate Basic from their profile will apply.
    5. Remove staff schedule: Check this option if you want existing staff schedules in the calendar to be removed for bank holidays.
  9. In the Import to field, select which branch/nurseries will have these bank holidays imported to them.
  10. Click Import.
