Time Off In Lieu, or TOIL for short, is a way that companies can compensate employees for working overtime by providing time off equivalent to the time spent working outside of contracted hours. If TOIL is enabled on your system, you're able to record overtime hours through your employee portal or the eyemployee app. If the overtime is approved, it will be converted into TOIL entitlement, which can be used to book absences.

Booking absences with TOIL
You can see how much TOIL entitlement you have through the Contract/Entitlements screen on both the employee portal and the eyemployee app. Booking Time Off In Lieu is not that much different from booking any other absence. You just need to select TOIL (Time Off In Lieu) as your Type of Absence when booking a holiday, and the use of TOIL entitlement for this absence will be indicated in the Deduct from Entitlement? field.
